“We feel confident because we have a partner in place that can help us get things done. The quality of work MayStreet delivers and our relationship with them means I can tell an incoming PM that even though we don’t support something today we can provide it quickly.”

David Lam, Co-Chief Technology Officer – Engineers Gate

Engineers Gate is a multi-manager quantitative investment firm. One of their portfolio managers was planning a new DMA (direct market access) strategy for trading in the global futures markets, with a desired six-month implementation timetable. This new strategy required several new futures exchange market data feed handlers.

The firm faced a classic buy vs. build scenario: hire the resources to build and maintain the feed handlers internally or buy a third-party vendor solution with existing capabilities to address its current and future needs.

Engineers Gate had a preexisting relationship with MayStreet, which had displayed deep experience and flexibility in equities markets. The firm was aware of MayStreet’s low total cost of ownership, the usability of its products and its robust client service organization, leading it to leverage MayStreet’s solution for feed handlers.
